Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Student Nurse Technician to gain hands-on clinical experience in a Neurology/Neurosurgery unit. You will assist in patient care under RN supervision and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN), with required pharmacology and medical-surgical coursework, and hold or obtain BLS within 30 days. Part-time shifts offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must work 12 hours per week.
• Actively enrolled in an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Completed at least one Pharmacology course and two semesters of Medical Surgical theory/clinical courses.
• Active on the Nebraska CNA registry or able to be within 30 days of hire.
• Active on the Nebraska Medication Aide registry or able to be within 90 days of hire.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire from an AHA-endorsed program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing high-quality patient care under RN supervision.
• Support collaboration with physicians, PT/OT, SLP and other disciplines.
• Move toward RN licensure upon program completion; potential progression if eligible.
