Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is seeking a Student Nurse Tech to join the care delivery team. Under RN supervision, you will provide delegated, direct patient care and assist with non-sterile procedures to support safe patient experiences.

The role requires enrollment in the first semester of an accredited nursing program and at least 1 year of customer service experience, with BLS certification due within 90 days. Work may be part-time and shift flexible, with on-site responsibilities in Kansas.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in first semester of accredited nursing program.
• 1 year customer service experience; direct patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain verbal report from the patient’s nurse including care needs, diagnosis, barriers and precautions.
• Relate pertinent patient information to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
• Follow nurse instructions on ambulation limits and redirection of the patient.
• Position self in patient room to observe patient behavior and activity continuously.
• Do not leave the patient unattended unless instructed by the nurse.
• Assist with patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction; avoid RN licensure tasks.
• Assist with patient intake as directed by the nurse; help with ambulation and positioning.
• Assist with moving patients to chairs, gurneys, or beds as directed; keep area clean and organized.
• Record data accurately and notify nurse of condition or behavior changes.
