Students may work up to 20 hours/week, weekends included. Starting wage is $12.00 per hour, with bonus increases for working 14 hours a week or more. Student employees receive a free shift meal and a student meal discount on all other meal periods. # Job Duties* Work on serving counter and food stations as required; be knowledgeable about menus and recipe ingredients; ensure correct portion size is distributed; move food to and from serving counter and food bars as required.* Cook to order and finish short preparation foods; dispense food following portion control, product timing, and temperature guidelines.* Set up and check dishes, utensils, signs, condiments, etc. for serving lines and food bars.* Monitor food temperatures and make adjustments as necessary; maintain accurate temperature logs when required.* Wash, scour, rinse, and dry soiled pots and pans, utensils, serving bowls, glasses, silverware, etc., using dishwasher or by hand; sort and store materials in proper location.* Clean work area and equipment and ensure general cleanliness and sanitation by following established guidelines to ensure proper food safety and sanitation. **BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES**Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. **CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS**Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
