Job summary

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Berks, Office of Enrollment Management is seeking to hire a Student to provide essential administrative and operational support to the Office of Enrollment Management. This role offers a valuable opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic higher education environment, contributing to the success of student engagement and support initiatives. The ideal candidate will assist with event coordination, clerical work, campus communications including digital material, intake, research, selection, preparation, set-up, implementation, coverage, tear-down, and assessment. While developing professional skills in a supportive setting. Bilingual fluency in Spanish is highly preferred

Ability to maintain confidentiality in this opening is REQUIRED and necessitates signing of a confidentiality agreement.

Job Duties
  • Administrative Coverage: Will support the regular operation and maintenance of the spaces in which they work including student desk coverage, greeting visitors, taking messages, making phone calls, hosting events and creating a welcoming environment for students and families. Will also complete clerical duties including mail copying and collecting various forms.
  • Event Coordination: Aid in the planning and execution of events and programs organized by the Office of Enrollment Management. Responsibilities include preparing materials, collaborating with IT, coordinating with vendors, and managing logistical arrangements for all events.
  • Marketing and Communications: Design and create promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and digital content for student events and programs. Manage upcoming events, creating engaging content, and monitoring interactions to increase visibility and engagement. This includes communicating with other offices and organization to distribute promotional materials to maximize outreach.
  • Special Projects: Engage in special projects and initiatives as assigned by Enrollment Management staff. Tasks may include research, report compilation, and other duties aligned with departmental objectives.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Current Enrollment: Must be a student at Penn State Berks Campus..
  • Communication Skills: Other responsibilities include assisting with student organization needs and requests. Top performance requires excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, creativity and collaboration skills and is preferred.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with office equipment and software is advantageous.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Information
  • Candidates for this opening will complete mandatory training, adhere to Penn State`s Conduct and Academic Integrity policies, agree to act appropriately in terms of communication, punctuality, and collegiality, and agree to act as a member of the Enrollment Management Team in a professional manner, respecting all individuals in our diverse University community.

Schedule: 10 hours max per week, with availability during regular office hours.

Location: Office of Enrollment Management

Compensation: $12 an hour

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
