Job summary

Salt Lake City School District East High School is seeking a Part-Time Student Advocate to support students’ emotional and educational growth. The role involves coordinating with teachers, counselors, and administrators, and assisting in implementing plans while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Selected candidates must be fingerprinted and pass a criminal background check.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, and interpret English communications.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for and provide support to assigned students based on needs, interests, and goals.
• Communicate regularly with school personnel and outside agencies to coordinate efforts based on student plans.
• Adhere to school, district, and legal policies and procedures.
• Establish relationships with students to promote a positive learning environment and student well-being.
• Monitor student progress and support meeting goals for academics, attendance, and citizenship.
• Operate district systems like PowerSchool and other provided tools.
