The University of Tampa is seeking a Part-Time Strength and Conditioning Coach to support developing strength programs for all sports in the UTampa Athletics department. Responsibilities include designing programs, evaluating athletes, teaching proper lifting techniques, and guiding nutrition and injury prevention.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • 1–2 years of collegiate internship experience.
  • CSCS/USAW certifications preferred.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Design training programs that are safe and effective.
  • Evaluate athletes with sport-specific tests.
  • Demonstrate lifting techniques and advise on rest/recovery.
  • Provide nutrition and injury-prevention guidance.
  • Collaborate with coaches, trainers and medical staff.
  • Maintain facilities and track athlete progress.
  • Teach strength and conditioning classes as needed.
  • Support a diverse, respectful work environment.

Part-Time Strength & Conditioning Coach (R0010943) – Tampa
Position Details

The Athletics Department at The University of Tampa has an openingfor a Part-Time Strength and Conditioning.

The Strength and Conditioning will assist with developing strengthprograms for all sports. Assist with the implementation of thestrength program for UTampa Athletics through coordination with theHead Strength and Conditioning Coach. In addition, will implementnecessary safety measures in weight room while conducting strengthand conditioning programs.

Responsibilities
  • Designing programs: Create and implement training plansthat are safe and effective
  • Evaluating athletes: Conduct sport-specific testingsessions to analyze an athlete's physical capabilities
  • Teaching: Demonstrate proper lifting techniques andadvise athletes on rest and recovery
  • Educating: Provide guidance on nutrition and injuryprevention
  • Collaborating: Work with other coaches, trainers, andmedical staff
  • Maintaining facilities: Ensure the strength andconditioning facility is safe and well-kept
  • Maintaining records: Keep track of athletes'progress
  • Teaching classes: Teach strength and conditioningclasses as needed
  • Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of,respect for, and development of skills to engage with othercultures and backgrounds.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a relatedfield
  • 1 to 2 years of previous internship experience at thecollegiate level
  • Must have or be pursuing CSCS/USAW certifications
  • Must have CPR/AED/First Aid Certified and providedocumentation
  • Knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn The University ofTampa software programs such as Workday and other relevantapplications.
  • Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovativeorganizational practices.
Pay Rate:

$14.00 per hour (not to exceed $10,000)

Work Schedule:

Flexibility with schedule is required, to include the availabilityof early morning and/or some weekends.

No more than 29 hours per week/1000 hours.

Background Check Requirements

Finalists may be required to submit to a criminal background check. Some positions may also require a motor vehicle report and/or a acredit report.
