Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, and help manage merchandise transfers from delivery to sales floor while maintaining seasonal areas.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, plus the ability to lift up to 55 lbs and work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail or similar environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as part of daily duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives related to store activities and maintain records.
• Support promotional displays and ensure store fixtures are effective.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and handling payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean including restrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
