Job summary

Deseret Book in Cottonwood Heights, UT is seeking a Part-Time Store Associate to sell products, provide outstanding customer service, and assist with daily store operations.

You will help with cashiering, merchandising, and guest interactions, while supporting a friendly, efficient team in a busy retail setting.

Qualifications

• Retail customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to operate a cash register and process transactions.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including Saturdays and holidays.
• Deseret Book product knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

• Sell Deseret Book products in a retail store environment.

• Oversee cashiering, gift wrapping, merchandise presentation, shipping/receiving, store recovery, etc.

Job Description

• Sell Deseret Book products and services in a retail store environment
• Deliver excellent customer service
• Oversee retail store operations such as cashiering, gift wrapping, merchandise presentation, shipping/receiving, store recovery, etc
• Supervise, train, and motivate store associates
• Give assignments and follow up to ensure timely completion
• Perform store opening and closing assignments

Required Skills

• Ability to interact with customers in-person and over the phone on a day-to-day basis is an essential function of this position
• Knowledge of Deseret Book products, policies, and procedures preferred
• Ability to coach and lead store associates
• Ability to see problems and work proactively to correct them
• Self-motivated with good team skills
• Computer and cashiering skills helpful
• Applicants must be flexible to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and Saturdays, as well as holidays with the exception of Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
• Ability to hear, understand, and respond to customers and associates
• Ability to locate and identify product for customers
• Ability to stand for long periods and regularly lift 20 lbs
