Job summary

Deseret Book Company in Cottonwood Heights, UT is hiring a part-time Store Associate to sell products and deliver exceptional customer service.

You will oversee daily store operations, assist customers in person and over the phone, and help with cashiering, merchandising, and basic shipping tasks. The role requires flexibility for days, evenings, and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers in person or over the phone.
• Knowledge of Deseret Book products, policies, and procedures preferred.
• Ability to coach and lead store associates during daily tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive issue resolution.
• Flexible to work days, evenings, Saturdays and holidays (except Thanksgiving/Christmas).
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 lbs.

• Oversee cashiering, gift wrapping, merchandising, shipping/receiving, and store recovery.

Description

• Sell Deseret Book products and services in a retail store environment
• Deliver excellent customer service
• Oversee retail store operations such as cashiering, gift wrapping, merchandise presentation, shipping/receiving, store recovery, etc
• Supervise, train, and motivate store associates
• Give assignments and follow up to ensure timely completion
• Perform store opening and closing assignments

Required Skills

• Ability to interact with customers in-person and over the phone on a day-to-day basis is an essential function of this position
• Knowledge of Deseret Book products, policies, and procedures preferred
• Ability to coach and lead store associates

• Self-motivated with good team skills
