Job summary

NAVSTA Norfolk is seeking a part-time warehouse associate to load/unload, verify merchandise, and assist with stock, inventory, and layaway transfers in our Exchange setting.

The role involves standing and handling merchandise up to 50 pounds, working indoors under supervision, and performing related duties as assigned. Hazardous materials training is required within 90 days of hire, with at least six months of prior experience in similar tasks.

Qualifications

• HazMat training within 90 days of hire per regulations
• Six months experience performing loading, unloading and verifying merchandise

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads merchandise, examines for damage or shortages and verifies quantity against documentation
• Unpacks, stocks shelves and counters; assists in inventory counts
• Moves layaway merchandise to designated warehouse areas and returns to store as needed
• Assists customers in locating merchandise and may operate a cash register on occasion
