Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development in Carroll, IA. You will help with opening/closing tasks, merchandise flow from delivery to floor, and implement corporate directives while keeping the store organized and welcoming.

The role requires strong communication, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to manage payroll, scheduling, and assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail or equivalent environment preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged goods, payroll and scheduling
• Maintain clean, stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment
• Ensure store cleanliness and proper restrooms, floors, and disposal
• Other duties as assigned
