Job summary

The Salvation Army in Elkins, WV is seeking a Store Clerk at the PMC-Elkins Service Center. This part-time position (28 hours weekly) pays $10.00–$10.18 per hour. Responsibilities include assisting customers, handling cash, and supporting donation sorting and display.

You will ring up sales, explain store policies, assist donors, open/close the store, and help maintain a clean, secure, welcoming retail environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Retail store experience preferred.
• Experience handling cash and assisting customers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ring up sales and manage cash register; balance cash drawer and process bank deposits.
• Explain store policies and assist customers with pricing and purchasing decisions.
• Assist donors and direct them to loading/unloading areas; provide tax receipts as needed.
• Answer store phone politely and provide information or directions.
• Open/close store according to schedule and maintain store security.
• Sort donated items, price them, and prepare displays; keep warehouse clean and organized.
• Ensure a pleasant shopping experience and security of cash registers and items.
