Job summary

The Salvation Army Roanoke Family Store is seeking a Store Clerk to provide exceptional customer service, assist with donations, and handle sales transactions at the register. You will help maintain displays, price merchandise, and support deposit preparation while ensuring store security and a welcoming environment.

The role requires lifting heavy items and light cleaning tasks, with a schedule of 25–29 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; retail experience preferred.
• Ability to operate a cash register and count change.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items (over 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with purchases, donations, inquiries and store policies.
• Operate and balance the cash register, process payments, and prepare deposits.
• Maintain clean, organized, and attractive store displays; stock and price merchandise.
• Ensure the security of store items and cash while monitoring volunteers.
