Job summary

Sherman ECC is seeking a passionate Early Childhood STEAM Teacher to lead a dynamic STEAM program for ages 18 months to 5 years. The role involves planning hands-on activities that promote curiosity, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication in a fully equipped STEAM classroom and outdoor spaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in early childhood education, education with science specialization, or a relevant field.
• Experience teaching children aged 2–5, preferably in STEAM or inquiry-based settings.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood development and play-based learning.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement STEAM lessons for each classroom (toddlers-PreK) aligned with developmental stages, our core values, and Sherman ECC’s philosophy.
• Facilitate scientific inquiry and provide opportunities and experiences for the children to foster science skills and build conceptual understanding.
• Guide exploration using scientific tools (e.g., microscopes, cameras, engineering materials, measuring instruments, light tables).
• Provide a learning environment that listens to the children’s ideas, encourages children to ask questions, plan investigations, and record and discuss findings.
• Set the environment to cultivate the Four C’s: foster creativity, collaboration, critical analysis, and communication.
