Job summary

Valor Health in Emmett, Idaho is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our Finance Department with general accounting functions, payroll accounting, accounts payable, and month-end close.

You will prepare journal entries, maintain records, reconcile ledgers, assist with financial reporting, and help ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls. Bachelor’s degree preferred; entry-level experience acceptable; Excel and ERP proficiency a plus; daytime part-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Entry-level accounting experience or internship experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation for accounting transactions.
• Assist with payroll accounting activities, including review of payroll reports and preparation of related journal entries.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations and research account variances.
• Assist with preparation of financial reports and management schedules.
