Job summary

Fort Wayne Metals is seeking a part-time 1st-shift operator in Fort Wayne, IN. The ideal candidate will read production orders, set up re-spooling equipment, monitor winding quality, and perform cleaning and testing processes.

You’ll work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 7:50 am-3:20 pm with weekly pay and no weekends. Day-one benefits eligibility for PTO and holiday pay, a voluntary overtime structure, and a safety-focused team with dedicated trainers help you succeed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Voluntary overtime only – you control extra hours.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting production orders to determine priorities and specifications
• Setting up and operating re-spooling equipment
• Monitoring wire winding to ensure even, accurate spooling and making adjustments as needed
• Performing cleaning processes using Hot Alkaline or Ultrasonic systems (as applicable)
• Conducting eddy current testing to identify defects in wire materials
• Visually inspecting wire to ensure quality standards are met and labeling and packaging finished materials accurately
