Job summary

Ecumen seeks a Part Time Spiritual Counselor to provide spiritual care and emotional support for residents, families, and team members at our Minnesota location. The role includes conducting worship services, coordinating pastoral care, and collaborating with care teams to honor each resident's beliefs and spiritual journey.

The position requires ordination or endorsement, relevant pastoral care experience, and ability to work 10 hours weekly with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates theological understanding and respect of all faith expressions, beliefs, and values.
• License, Ordination and/or Ecclesiastical Endorsement by a recognized religious organization.
• 2 years pastoral care or chaplain ministry experience.
• Minimum of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education or the ability to complete within two years of hire.
• Commitment to personal self-care and spiritual development.
• Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations including irregular hours, meetings and events.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.

Responsibilities

• Meets with residents and families to assess spiritual care needs and introduces spiritual care services as part of admissions.
• Documents spiritual care visits with residents in the electronic health record system.
• Leads spiritually based activities such as Bible studies, prayer groups, hymn sings and services.
• Provides compassion and sensitivity to the needs of others regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation.
• Coordinates pastoral care and spiritual services in line with residents' beliefs, including sacraments and funeral/memorial services.
