Job summary

Expatiate Communication, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional/Speech Aide to provide clerical, caretaking, and paraprofessional support to certificated staff in our educational programs.

This position involves helping special education students, supporting learning activities, and maintaining a safe classroom environment. Location is Anaheim, CA, part-time with travel to Pasadena, CA Central Office as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Minimum of one year (100 hours) of paid or volunteer work.
• Possess a valid CA Speech Aide license, or be eligible and willing to obtain one through the Speech-Language Pathology Board.
• Experience working with children is required.
• Knowledge of curriculum development and classroom support techniques.
• Familiarity with special education principles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Tutor and reinforce learning activities in basic academic areas with students in small groups or one-to-one, under teacher supervision.
• Organize and prepare instructional materials and equipment for classroom activities.
• Assist teachers in implementing the course of study through instruction.
• Assist with transporting students to and from school and on site activities.
• Maintain routine records and files related to classroom activities.
• Discuss progress and plan activities with teachers and address health or behavior concerns.
• Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment.
• Supervise students during lunch and recess.
