Job summary

University of Kansas invites experienced scholars to apply for part-time, temporary instructional positions. Courses are taught at the Lawrence or Edwards campus with a pro-rated workload for Fall 2026. Instructors develop syllabi, lectures, and assessments while advising students and collaborating with colleagues.

Appointments are non-tenure track and renewals depend on need, funding, and performance, not exceeding two consecutive semesters. Start date mid-August 2026 and review begins soon.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Ed.D. in special education or related field required for graduate teaching.
• Experience teaching, supervising, or coaching adult learners.
• Experience teaching courses related to special education.
• Experience in public schools providing integrated special education services.

Responsibilities

• As an instructor, teach graduate-level and undergraduate courses and develop course materials.
• Develop and manage syllabi, create lectures and assignments, and evaluate student work.
• Advise students and hold office hours while collaborating with colleagues.
