Job summary

Millennium Health is seeking a Part-Time Specimen Collector in Portland, OR. The role involves collecting urine and oral fluid specimens, processing and shipping, and serving as the liaison between clinics and our laboratory.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months in specimen collection or 1+ year in medical support, along with strong customer service skills. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required, with HIPAA and privacy policy adherence a must.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months experience as a specimen collector.
• 2+ years customer service experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, HiTrust and privacy policies.
• Ability to use smartphone and computer.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid specimens.
• Process and package collections for shipping.
• Serve as intermediary between the clinic and the laboratory.
• Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent lab information.
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in ordering portal.
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite.
• Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens as applicable.
• Driving from/to multiple facilities may be required.
