Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a part-time Special Education Teacher to support a homebound student in the Providence, RI area. The role focuses on one-on-one, individualized instruction tailored to the student’s needs, with three 1-hour sessions weekly for the 2026-2027 school year.

Ideal candidates will hold a valid SPED certification, experience with diverse learners, and strong communication and record-keeping skills.

Qualifications

Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher.
Experience providing special education services, preferably homebound or individualized learning.
Strong knowledge of specialized instructional strategies for diverse learners.
Ability to build rapport and foster a positive, supportive learning atmosphere.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Commitment to confidentiality and student privacy.

Responsibilities

Deliver customized instruction to a homebound student based on the IEP and goals.
Conduct three 1-hour teaching sessions per week during the 2026-2027 school year.
Assess student progress and modify lessons to meet targets.
Facilitate engaging lessons that encourage participation and learning.
Collaborate with families and related service providers to ensure a coordinated approach.
Maintain accurate records of instructional activities and student performance.
