Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools in Silver Spring is seeking a paraeducator to support students with IEPs, assist with learning activities, and provide behavioral, social, and academic support in inclusive and specialized settings.

Under the direction of the principal, you will engage in instructional and clerical tasks, collaborate with teachers, and help students master grade-level content or Alternate Academic Achievement Standards. Part-time position with strong teamwork and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and instructional strategies relevant to the assignment.
• Ability to support instructional goals and policies for students with special needs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementation of instructional program and monitor student behavior.
• Provide academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and physical support.
• Perform clerical tasks to support teachers and staff.
• Adapt instruction to grade-level or Alternate Academic Achievement Standards.
• Support students spent in general or specialized settings.
