Job summary

Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 seeks a part-time Teacher Aide to assist certified staff in delivering the special education program under the IEP. You will support learners with disabilities across classrooms, follow plans, collect data, and help with daily living activities and transitions.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, implementing accommodations, and collaborating with families as part of the educational team.

Qualifications

• Required: effective communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Ability to follow directions and maintain confidentiality.
• Basic technology skills for instructional support.
• No certificated requirement; non-certificated status as noted.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified staff with instructional activities.
• Follow written plans and provide activities to learners individually or in groups.
• Collect and record data under supervision.
• Support learners with daily living activities and transitions.
• Maintain safe, healthy learning environment and follow behavior plans.
• Provide accommodations as directed by teachers and include IEP goals.
