Job summary

Fort Zumwalt R-2 School District is seeking a Part-Time Special Education Paraprofessional to support students under a teacher’s supervision in a resource or self-contained room.

The role requires a high school diploma and offers part-time hours (14–21 per week). Experience with children is preferred; candidates should be able to obtain substitute teacher certification. Training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Candidates should be able to obtain substitute teacher certification and be competent in duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher with instruction of students in the classroom.
• Monitor the classroom during IEP meetings and staffings (sub-certification or teaching certification required to monitor).
• Assist with grading papers, phone calls, and related tasks.
• Assist with the physical care of students as needed.
