Job summary

Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor (OSNP) seeks a Part-Time Translator Interpreter (Bilingual-Spanish) to join the Interpreter Services Unit. The role supports federal, state, and international law enforcement partners in NYC and beyond with accurate Spanish translation and interpretation.

This part-time position requires three days per week and offers prorated compensation within a $60,000–$80,000 full-time range.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Spanish, oral and written.
• Court interpreter certification preferred or 3–5 years in legal translation/interpretation.
• Experience with legal terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Translate, interpret, and transcribe Spanish language communications accurately and promptly.
• Testify before grand jury and at trial when required.
• Identify and translate Spanish language evidence from devices.
• Provide accurate simultaneous interpretation during meetings with Spanish-speaking individuals.
• Provide other translation and interpretation services as needed.
