Job summary

Oak Essentials Malibu is seeking a part-time Sales Associate to support retail and spa operations on-site. You will help maximize sales, assist spa guests, and coordinate bookings, ensuring guest interactions reflect Oak Essentials brand.

The role also includes handling POS transactions, maintaining merchandising, assisting with inventory, and supporting on-location events. Minimum 1–2 years of retail experience, VIP handling a plus, and weekend/holiday availability are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in retail sales; spa, clean beauty, or luxury/upper-contemporary background preferred.
• Willingness and availability to work during peak business periods — weekends, holidays, etc.
• Familiarity with spa booking software a plus.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience with POS and inventory management systems, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Comfortable working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Maximize sales and provide friendly, welcoming, guest-first customer service.
• Communicate effectively with customers to determine their needs and recommend products.
• Build relationships with clients and maintain an updated client book.
• Handle all point-of-sale transactions including sales, exchanges, refunds, gift cards, and gift wrap.
• Encourage guests to join the Oak Essentials community (email/SMS list) and engage with us on social media.
• Support the spa booking and scheduling system, assisting with appointment coordination and treatment room turnover.
• Serve as a welcoming on-site point of contact for spa guests, coordinating check-in and hand-off to licensed aestheticians.
• Help maintain treatment rooms, retail floor, and guest areas to Oak Essentials cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Assist with guest intake and flag scheduling conflicts or service-related issues to the Retail & Spa Lead.
• Help deliver a seamless, elevated experience for every guest, including VIP or high-touch clientele.
• Support daily opening/closing procedures and sales floor operations under the direction of the Retail & Spa Lead.
• Take an active role in maintaining visual merchandising standards and product displays.
• Assist with inventory tracking, restock requests, stock transfers, and receiving new merchandise.
• Ensure POS and inventory accuracy.
• Participate in on-location events, activations, and launches.
• Communicate effectively through sharing feedback with the Retail & Spa Lead and writing daily business recaps.
• Secure company assets through loss prevention in compliance with company policies and guidelines.
