Job summary
Kansas City School District – KCMO 1220 Lincoln College Prep in Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach for the 2026/2027 season. This part-time role supports Athletics and reports to the Athletic Director.
The successful candidate will lead practices, ensure safety, adhere to MSHSAA standards, organize schedules, manage equipment, and pursue ongoing professional development through clinics and courses.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of coaching philosophy and program development.
- Must complete MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses.
- Strong commitment to student-athlete development and compliance with eligibility rules.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate sport with a full team in compliance with MSHSAA standards.
- Assist in implementing athletic standards as outlined in the MSHSAA Handbook and attend required sessions.
- Assist in the coordination of the program.
- Supervise students at practices and contests.
- Provide information for transportation, facilities, officials and game management.
- Organize and schedule practice sessions to develop student-athlete potential.
- Emphasize safety precautions and injury management procedures.
- Demonstrate ethical conduct during practices and contests with high sportsmanship.
- Assist in returning school equipment per KCMSD handbook.
- Pursue professional growth through clinics and publications.
