Job summary

Bentley University is seeking an Assistant Coach for its softball program in Waltham, MA. You will assist the Head Coach with practices, game coaching, and recruiting while upholding university and NCAA standards.

You will mentor student-athletes, help manage travel and budgets, and contribute to a positive, competitive program on campus. This role requires flexibility for evenings and weekends and a valid US driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• 1+ years of coaching experience and/or participation at varsity level.
• Must hold and maintain a valid US driver's license with insurable driving history.
• Demonstrated knowledge of coaching strategies and techniques.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and ability to foster a positive playing environment.
• Mentoring student-athletes with adherence to NCAA rules.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and strong interpersonal skills.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends or overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach in conducting practice and game coaching within NCAA rules.
• Develop game strategies and design practice sessions; assist on location.
• Lead and motivate student-athletes to peak performance.
• Assist in recruitment and retention of prospective student-athletes through scouting and visits.
• Support administrative tasks including budget, travel, equipment and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with conference and NCAA requirements.
