Job summary

Shaw University seeks a part-time Adjunct Instructor of Sociology to teach traditional and non-traditional students at on-campus and/or off-campus sites on weekdays, weeknights, and Saturdays. The position is contingent on enrollment each semester and includes student advising responsibilities.

Faculty will adhere to the course syllabus, engage students with diverse teaching strategies, and ensure timely grading and documentation while collaborating with the Department Head and Dean as required.

Responsibilities

• Teaches college-level students, on-campus and/or off-campus sites, on an as-needed per semester basis.
• Provides student assistance and guidance in sociology and related topics.
• Promotes and enforces academic integrity and appropriate classroom conduct.
• Maintains accurate records and submits final grades in a timely manner.
• Uses diverse teaching strategies and instructional technology to facilitate learning.
• Coordinates with Department Head and Dean regarding class schedules and emergencies.
