Job summary

Friends of Children with Special Needs (FCSN) in Fremont, CA seeks a Program Assistant for the East Bay Social Recreation and Outreach Program. This part-time role supports engaging social activities, enrichment programs, outreach events, and family-friendly programming for individuals with diverse needs and their families.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, patient, and enthusiastic about inclusive experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with individuals with diverse needs preferred.
• Availability on weekends, including Saturdays/Sundays.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
• Reliable, patient, and able to adapt to new challenges.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace; Canva is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, promote, facilitate, and supervise social recreation and enrichment programs.
• Lead or support program activities and classes.
• Create a welcoming, safe, inclusive environment for participants, families, and volunteers.
• Provide individualized support with care and encouragement.
• Assist with participant progress updates to the Program Supervisor.
• Prepare program rooms and materials; assist with cleanup.
