Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a Speech Language Pathology Assistant to join our Special Education team in Mesa, Arizona. This part-time role works 21 hours per week at a base rate of $28.85 per hour, with a 9.25-month calendar and no benefits.

The SLPA will provide therapy assistance under the supervision of an SLP, contribute to assessments, and document progress. Candidates should have an ASHA-aligned SLPA program or a bachelor's in related field, and be proficient in English.

Qualifications

• SLPA license issued by the Arizona Department of Health Services
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
• Experience collaborating with teachers and special education staff
• Familiarity with IEPs and therapy plans

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapy assistance to students per SLP plans and IEPs
• Assist the SLP with informal documentation
• Document student progress toward objectives as per therapy plan
• Assist with data collection for assessment purposes
• Prepare and organize records and materials for documentation
• Maintain regular and on-time attendance
• Perform other duties to support the work unit
• Assist with assigned duties as appropriate to Mesa Public Schools
