RSU#23, a 675-student district located near the Atlantic Ocean in Maine, is seeking a half-time Speech-Language Pathologist, CCC, for the 2026-27 school year. The 0.5 FTE position offers collaborative working environment and the opportunity to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

  • Provide services in both the mainstream and special education settings for students of all abilities.
  • Write and maintain compliant IEPs and facilitate meetings.
  • Determine need and administer appropriate assessments.
  • Present evaluation results in reports and orally to the team.
  • Comply with all state and federal guidelines.
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices.
  • Excellent communication with parents, teachers, administration, and other stakeholders to promote student success.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and support the academic, social, and emotional needs of students with varying needs.
  • Participate in school community outside of the classroom.
  • Exemplary time management and organizational skills.
  • Support a total communication approach that may include AAC devices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct case management, including writing and maintaining compliant IEPs, as well as facilitating meetings.
  • Determine need and administer appropriate assessments.
  • Present evaluation results in a comprehensive manner and share results with team members, both orally and in written reports.
  • Comply with all state and federal guidelines.
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices.
  • Excellent communication with parents, teachers, administration, community leaders, and other stakeholders to promote and support student success.
  • Demonstrated ability of understanding and supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of students with varying needs.
  • Interest in participating in the school community outside of the classroom.
  • Exemplary time management and organizational skills.
  • Support a total communication approach that may include AAC devices.
