Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer (Shipyard Patrol Access Control) in San Diego, CA. You will monitor access points, conduct patrols, and maintain a visible presence to deter security incidents for aerospace/defense sites.

The role emphasizes flexible shift options, customer service, compliance with site procedures, and professional interaction with staff and visitors. Prior security and CPR credentials are preferred, with licensing requirements per state law.

Qualifications

• Guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and maintain accurate entry and incident documentation in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, restricted areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate site contacts and public-service responders as directed.
• Observe and report unusual activity, facility conditions, and policy violations while maintaining a professional presence and following confidentiality requirements.
