Job summary

Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part Time Security Officer for Shipyard Patrol Access Control in San Diego, CA. You will monitor access points, perform patrols, and maintain a visible, professional presence in an aerospace/defense setting.

This role offers a flexible day schedule, a pay rate of $22.85 per hour, and opportunities to grow through Allied Universal's training and perks program.

Qualifications

• Guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and maintain accurate entry and incident documentation in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, restricted areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate site contacts and public-service responders as directed.
• Observe and report unusual activity, facility conditions, and policy violations while maintaining a professional presence and following confidentiality requirements.
