Job summary

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair and operation products, is seeking a Part-Time Shipper for our Savannah, GA Distribution Center. You will perform the day-to-day operations of the shipping department and help ensure accurate, on-time orders.

The position pays $20.00 per hour, with hours from 12:00pm to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Applicants should be able to lift up to 70 pounds and follow written and oral instructions, contributing to a safe, efficient shipping

Qualifications

• This position requires the ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations; and the ability to understand written and oral instructions.
• This position requires the ability to concentrate and to communicate with management and co-workers regarding a shipment.
• This position requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions that pertain to each shipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs the day-to-day operations of the shipping department.
• Packs and ships completed sales orders by using the correct number of boxes and stuffing not to exceed the 40 lb. weight standard set up by the shipping manager.
• Maintains the quality of the product by looking for damaged bags or boxes.
• Helps ship Freight orders and other special orders including Heavy Duty shipments and end of day for Next Day Air shipments, including Hazardous Material.
• Performs daily maintenance to sales orders to assure the correct quantity goes out including incompletes.
