Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a guest-first, hospitality-driven Shift Supervisor to lead concession teams and ensure efficient operation while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

The role emphasizes supporting frontline staff, resolving guest concerns on the spot, coaching staff, and upholding high service standards in a busy concessions setting. Availability five days a week is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be available to work up to 32–40 hours per week during the summer season and at least 24 hours per week in the off season.
• Pass drug screening and background check.
• Must attend and pass the Nebraska Health Department-Food Handling course offered at the Zoo.
• Strong math and calculator skills.
• Excellent guest service and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and assist with duties in the building or stand.
• Prepare cash in registers and buildings for opening.
• Ensure staff wear approved Zoo uniforms with name badges.
• Supervise cleaning, cooking, scheduling, inventory and closing tasks.
• Ensure proper food handling and portioning.
• Provide on-the-job training and retraining.
• Maintain daily paperwork and secure stand keys at end of night.
• Deliver first-class customer service at all times.
• Communicate issues and ideas to management.
