Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of store management, ensure accurate cash handling, and provide superior customer service. The role includes stocking, plan‑o‑gram maintenance, safety compliance, and contributing to a fast‑paced, profitable store environment.

Responsibilities also cover floor and backroom organization, accepting payments, making change, and assisting with store opening/closing per district directions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong math skills and cash handling experience required.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register and related POS software.
• Knowledge of plan‑o‑gram execution and merchandise presentation.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock shelves; build displays.
• Assist customers and locate merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; handle cash register duties.
• Authorize refunds/overrides in manager absence and ensure cashier accountability.
