Job summary

Alila Napa Valley is seeking a skilled and self-motivated part-time Shift Engineer two to three days a week to join our Engineering team. This role maintains guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house systems with a focus on landscaping, irrigation, and drip systems.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of hospitality maintenance and landscaping experience, strong troubleshooting and communication skills, and the ability to work swing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of building maintenance experience in hospitality or related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of landscaping experience required.
• Painting and staining skillset required.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Prior hotel or resort experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain property's landscape areas and irrigation/drip systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs in guest rooms and public areas.
• Inspect and ensure equipment safety and efficiency.
• Complete maintenance requests and tickets promptly to Forbes standards.
• Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues to minimize disruption.
• Support preventive maintenance programs and special projects.
• Adhere to safety regulations and Hyatt standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experience.
