Qualifications
- Less than high school education or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.
- Must obtain and maintain a San Diego County Food Handlers card and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
Responsibilities
- Sets tables as required and provides drinking water; refills beverages upon guest or server requests.
- Anticipates guest needs and delivers friendly, attentive service while maintaining cleanliness of dining and service areas.
- Completes assigned side work and assists servers in attending to guests’ needs and expectations.
- Provides room service—prompt, thorough service to hotel guests and picks up trays.
- Performs opening/closing duties and supports overall dining room operations.
- Maintains safety, cleanliness, and order in the restaurant area; follows all signature service standards.
