Job summary

GENEWIZ by Azenta in Waltham, MA is seeking a Laboratory Technician I for the Overnight Sequencing shift (10am–3pm EST). This entry-level role supports whole plasmid sequencing, follows SOPs, and contributes to processing hundreds of samples daily.

You will prepare samples, purify templates, load DNA onto sequencing machines, and maintain a clean work area. The position requires attention to detail and basic lab experience and may involve overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; higher degrees preferred.
• 1+ years of lab work experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Familiarity with sequencing prep and sterile techniques is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Sort incoming samples and prepare sequencing templates.
• Assist in purification and load samples onto sequencing machines.
• Perform quality processing with minimal errors.
• May work with automation platforms; communicate with customers and internal teams.
• Prepare samples for shipment to the New Jersey location daily.
• Overtime and/or weekends may be required; alternate shifts possible.
