Job summary

Cobb County Government is seeking a part-time driver to transport older adults to senior centers, medical appointments, and other locations within and outside Cobb County. The role requires about 29 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with duties including assisting clients on/off buses and operating lifts.

Responsibilities include safe vehicle operation, daily safety inspections, and occasional deliveries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by one year of experience providing transportation.
• Preferred: experience transporting individuals and driving 12–14 passenger buses.
• Defensive driving certification preferred.
• Willing to assist older adults on and off county vans/buses.
• Willing to complete CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Transports clients to and from scheduled activities and appointments.
• Operates shuttle buses with lifts and performs daily safety inspections.
• Reports maintenance and safety concerns to supervisor.
• Makes deliveries of supplies to clients and senior centers as needed.
• Attends required training such as Defensive Driving and CPR/First Aid.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
