Job summary

City of Diamond Bar is seeking a Senior Recreation Leader to support the Diamond Bar Center's facility reservations, contract classes, and senior programs. This at-will/part-time position averages up to 19 hours per week with no benefits.

Under supervision, you will lead Recreation Leaders/Volunteers, supervise staff in activities, handle participant issues, and assist in planning and daily operation of Youth Programs, Sports, and Special Events.

Qualifications

At least one year of college-level work in an applicable field.
Two years of work experience in recreation or customer service.
Valid California driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
AED, CPR and First Aid Certification required after appointment.
Ability to travel to different sites and work flexible schedules (weekdays, weekends, evenings, holidays).
Lift up to 50 pounds and be able to sit for up to two hours at a time.

Responsibilities

Supervise frontline staff in sports activities, arts and crafts, games and play activities.
Assist in planning and daily operation of programs and events.
Coordinate facility reservations, scheduling and use of City parks and fields.
Assist with Special Events, Youth Programs, and Contract Classes as needed.
Prepare reports and maintain equipment, supplies, and program records.
