Job summary

Spanish Fork City is seeking a 60+ Pickleball Program Instructor in Parks and Recreation to plan, teach and supervise the pickleball program for adults 60 and older at the FitCity Center. The role emphasizes safe, inclusive, and engaging classes with adaptable activities to accommodate varying abilities and mobility levels.

Prior pickleball teaching or playing experience is preferred, along with a Utah driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent; previous pickleball playing or teaching experience.
• Patient, encouraging and enthusiastic with a passion for helping older adults stay active.
• Ability to adjust activities for varying abilities and mobility levels.
• Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans and instructs pickleball classes, clinics, and skill sessions for adults 60+.
• Teaches fundamentals: serving, scoring, footwork, game strategy and sportsmanship.
• Ensures safety and proper equipment use; enforces facility rules.
• Creates an inclusive, welcoming environment that fosters social engagement.
• Assist with tournaments, demonstrations, and community programs as assigned.
