Qualifications

About the Role

Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, is seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Pickleball Instructor to lead recreational programming for older adults. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching, fostering community, and supporting active lifestyles. These opportunities are for on‑site, in‑person instruction only.

Instructor Pickleball duties and responsibilities

• Lead pickleball classes tailored to senior adults, focusing on safety, skill development, and fun.
• Teach fundamentals including rules, scoring, paddle skills, footwork, and game strategy.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for participants of varying experience levels.
• Provide modifications and guidance to support safe participation.
• Manage class setup and cleanup.
• Maintain attendance records and complete required administrative documentation.

Instructor Pickleball requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience teaching pickleball, tennis, or similar racquet sports.
• Experience working with older adults preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a positive, encouraging class environment.
