Job summary

TMMG, LLC seeks a Senior Naval Architect to support the Engineering Design Team in delivering execution-focused engineering solutions for naval and commercial shipbuilding. This role moves beyond theory, requiring active involvement in shipyard environments to ensure designs are buildable, compliant, and producible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
• 10+ years of naval or commercial shipbuilding experience.
• U.S. Citizenship; Active Secret/clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and lead structural and naval architectural analyses for ship systems, foundations, and modifications.
• Conduct DDAM shock analysis, static and dynamic Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and load path evaluations.
• Develop and validate shock-qualified designs for shipboard equipment and systems.
• Ensure compliance with NAVSEA design practices, classification society rules (ABS), and contract requirements.
• 3D Modeling & Digital Engineering Integration: develop 3D ship models using Rhino, SolidWorks, ShipConstructor, or equivalents.
• Translate legacy drawings and incomplete data into accurate, buildable 3D models.
• Support design-to-production alignment and identify clashes early.
• Lead or support technical design packages (TDPs) and ECNs/ECPs as needed.
