Job summary

Charlestown by Erickson Senior Living seeks a Program Assistant to enhance residents' well-being through tailored activities addressing physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, and emotional needs. You’ll work with the Programming team to plan therapeutic programs and help coordinate outings and in-room activities.

The role requires at least 1 year in geriatric settings or related fields, with preferences for experience leading groups and a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with the geriatric population or in related fields.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Activities Assistant in a licensed health care facility or relevant internships.
• Experience leading groups with varying physical and cognitive abilities is preferred.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate structured and impromptu programs for residents in common areas and rooms.
• Escort residents on group trips and excursions, ensuring safety.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver engaging activities.
• Monitor changes in residents’ needs and report to the Programming Manager.
• Manage program supplies and equipment, ensuring safety and functionality.
• Participate in team discussions on programming and schedules.
• Prepare and implement activity programs based on guidance from the Program Manager.
• Lead and set up group and individual activities, motivating participants.
