Job summary

Standard Chartered, a leading international bank, is seeking a part-time employment law counsel to advise on and manage employment matters arising for the Bank in the US and LatAm. The role involves handling disputes, advising on investigations and disciplinary matters, and coordinating with external counsel to protect the firm’s interests.

The successful candidate will have a Juris Doctorate, bar admissions in New York and New Jersey, and at least five years of relevant experience in corporate

Qualifications

• Knowledge of domestic and international employment laws and ability to interpret them in a business context.
• Experience advising on disputes/litigation and coordinating external counsel.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Advise on employment disputes and manage litigation in the US and LatAm.
• Instruct and coordinate external legal counsel and tailor litigation strategy to the business.
• Advise HR, ER and business stakeholders on settlement strategy and regulatory changes.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting staff and remuneration from a US perspective.
