Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to support meal service in our Residence/Home. You will assist with set up, serving, and cleanup for residents and guests, while delivering meals with professionalism and care.

Responsibilities include assisting with food preparation, tray delivery, dining area upkeep, and supporting special events. The role requires a Food Handler's Certificate and the ability to work with seniors in a supportive, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Food Handler's Certificate.
• Experience in dining service for seniors is preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Physically able to lift and transfer items and stand for long periods.
• Able to obtain Vulnerable Sector Check within six months.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist with setup and preparation for service of beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning dishware and maintaining kitchen/dining area.
• Assist with catering and participate in special occasions and events.
• Assist in orientation and training of new dietary staff.
• Follow health and safety regulations and department procedures.
• Uphold residents' rights and promote ethical care.
