Job summary

The Northbridge Companies is seeking an Activity Assistant to join our Engagement & Activity Team. You will work with the Engagement Director to design and run activities that enhance residents' physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being, keeping our community vibrant and caring.

You’ll plan diverse programs, connect personally with residents, and help organize trips, arts, and events, while maintaining records and contributing fresh ideas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; recreation/gerontology coursework is a plus.
• Love connecting with seniors and get along naturally.
• Creative and able to plan and lead activities that suit different interests and abilities.
• Organize things well and pay attention to details.
• Communicate effectively and be kind.
• Flexible to work different shifts, including weekends and evenings.
• Know basic computer skills for documenting and communicating.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run a variety of activities with the Engagement Director, including exercise programs, sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
• Connect with residents personally to understand preferences and needs to ensure activities are enjoyable and meaningful.
• Assist in planning trips outside the community, organizing details, and ensuring residents are safe and happy.
• Create a warm, inclusive environment where residents can make friends and discover new interests.
• Keep records of resident participation and feedback to improve programs.
• Share creative ideas to keep programs exciting and aligned with seniors' interests.

Activity Assistant Job Summary:
