Job summary

Deer Park Health and Rehab is seeking a dependable activities assistant to make a meaningful impact on our residents. You will help develop and deliver daily group and individual activities tailored to residents’ needs and interests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in activities, recreation, or working with seniors preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative, energetic, and compassionate personality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be physically able to assist residents and set up activity areas.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and delivery of daily group and individual activities tailored to residents’ needs and interests.
• Help create monthly activity calendars and prepare materials and supplies for scheduled programs.
• Encourage resident participation and provide companionship during activities and leisure time.
• Transport and assist residents to and from activity areas in a safe and respectful manner.
• Maintain attendance records and document resident participation.
• Support special events, holiday celebrations, and outings.
• Assist with setup and cleanup of activity areas.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, volunteers, and family members to ensure a well-rounded program.
• Uphold a positive and respectful environment for all residents.
